The old elf looks at Luce, "Ah, a descendant. Your ancestor was a fearsome opponent. I know not if she still lives, but she was already ancient. A dragon does not get to be that old without knowing a few tricks. "The largest congregation of them I have ever witnessed was in the mountains, where I fought the black dragon. It isn't far from where the Golds make their home, now, from what I hear. If you wish to try and track down more pieces, then that might be a good place to start. The only other pieces I am aware of is a white pawn in Kyf Shaeras, though that was centuries ago. He used to own a jeweler's shop. His name was Mycan. You could go looking for him, as well."

The gnome giggled at the idea of visiting a jeweler.

Yafira made an additional note about Mycan, though she doubted she would spend much time talking to him. She had other business in Kyf Shaeras. "I suppose we should," she answered Lorat. "It changes our plans, but Luce, you look like you could use some answers." Yafira looked at her companions, waiting for their input.

Luce's voice is hesitant. "But . . . we still have business with that tower. Should we return there first, try to determine what happened to the people who kidnapped us? Then we can go see my clan, since it's close to this place Lorat is talking about."

"If the tower the Dragonborn mentions is the one with the necromancers, that should be dealt with first. Never leave a nearby threat undealt with. Besides, if there is a connection between all these, there may be information in this tower."

Lorat looked down, pondering something, then stood. "If you are truly the ones picking up the battle where I left off, then I would help any way I can." He left the room for a moment, returning a short while later with an object wrapped in cloth. It was long and thin, about five feet long. Once he unwrapped it, he revealed a staff of exquisite quality. "This staff belonged to one Arannis Siandel. When he came through our little town...well, little at the time...he did not have much coin. In fact, he had nothing. By selling this one item, he made enough to start a new life elsewhere. I...kept it. Always figured he'd want to come back for it some day, but he never did. It's been sitting in the back of my closet ever since, I honestly had forgotten about it until now, but seeing as you may need it more than I..." He carefully handed the staff over to Yafira. "It has atrophied over the years from nonuse, but once you attune to it, it will grow as you grow. Right now, it can help you cast some minor spells, but a staff like this has many surprises." He looks at the rest of the group, "I have nothing here for the rest of you, other than a few potions of healing which you are welcome to take. But...the people I traveled with had quite a few items that might interest a party such as yours. Normally I'm not a fan of grave robbing, but I feel they would...appreciate their gear being used to continue their fight. "After the fight with the dragon, I brought their bodies back here, to my home. I found a cave, and built a crypt to serve as their tomb. A hundred years later, the entrance to that crypt caved in, and a hundred years after that, a tower was built over it." He looked them each in the eye. "I believe there might be a connection between what happened to you at Lylac, and the game we are apparently caught up in."

Yafira stood and received her father's staff with reverence. She ran her hands along the wood as Lorat continued to speak. Afterward, she whispered, "I remember this." She never thought she would see it again. To think she would ever use it as Father once did... Joy spread over her face. She held the staff close and told Lorat, "Thank you."
In a moment, she cleared her throat and adopted a more businesslike tone. "If you think there is a connection, sir, then we should definitely investigate. And if any active threat remains, we'll face it."

A soft thud came from the sofa as Yoru's head hit against the wooden seat. She winced and sat back up. "Are we setting out now?" She asked as she rubbed her head.

Devotions? Yoru's blood turned cold. The last time she heard that was when she was about to be sacrificed into a pit of fire by a group of cult that she was spying on. She gulped. "W-what kind of devotion?" She stammered nervously.

"Devotions? Why there are several, though in this instance I was referring to religous movements. However, there are other pleasant devotions thant can be shared, if you so chose." Xiombarg smiles and nods his head in her direction.

"Yes, sleep would be a good idea. I have a few guest rooms you are welcome to take. You will be safe in my home this night. Tomorrow, I will give you what provisions I have, and whatever help you think you may need." You can talk amongst yourselves more, or go to bed, the choice is yours. Yafira will need to spend an hour attuning to her new staff to learn what it can do.

She was right. Perhaps he was one of the members and now he has just chosen her as his sacrifice. He was going to get her in her sleep. She felt her skin tingled as a chill slithered down her spine. "Well I will be heading to bed then. Night everyone." Yoru said before bolting out of the room.

The bard began to cough, and the coughing became a fit of violent coughs. The bards face turned a slight pinkish hue as the gnome gasped for air. Turning away from the crowd, Reggo spit a crumb of cake into his hand and frowned. He put the partially chewed food in his pocket and wiped his hand on his jacket.
"Thank you kindly Lorat for your hospitality," he bowed his head, "And to you Mrs. Lorat, the cakes were lovely," he smiled.
Smiling an awkward smile, the bard turned away from the elves, whistling as he hopped up the stairs, catching up to Yoru, he tapped her on the shoulder as she was about to head into her room, "Ahem.. Yoru, I --," Reggo became nervous and began fishing around in his pockets, "I thought I had something that you dropped, but I seem to have forgotten which pocket I put it in. I couldn't tell you what it was," his grin turned sheepish as he fumbled around in his many pouches--
"Perhaps, it's in my backpack," he whispered to himself

Yoru looked down at Reggo. "I dropped something?" Yoru patted herself down. "Oh you have my dagger?" She reached behind Reggo's ear and pulled out her dagger. She gave him a look of amazement. "How did you keep it there?" She laughed and with a flick of her wrist the dagger disappeared. With a playful grin Yoru thanked and bid him good night before going into her room.

Pleased to see Yoru play a joke, Reggo went to his room. Of course the pendant was still in his jewelers kit. Still wanting to get a chain for it, he decided to ask the lady of the house in the morning if she happened to have spare chain.
Sitting down on the guest bed, the bard pulled out a piece of paper and ink:
Put fire in the streets; A boy and a bowl Greased sneers wearing Their faces. "Racists!"
A boy and a bowl Force the being of light Into the Inn for No reason but hate, Their faces "Racists!"
Greased sneers wearing Their hypnotized eyes Gawking at the glow of Destruction. Their faces, "Racists!"
Their faces Scorched by their own Fire-lit god Their faces, "Racists!"
"Racists!" The heroes echoed Into the night, Falling fire to it's knees A boy and his bowl Put fire in the streets.
----
The bard scowled at his own writing. He knew no one would like the poem. He titled it "Burning Down the House" crossed it out and wrote "Leader's Son of Lone River." Reggo laughed at his new title. He could never let Lorat see his naughty poetry about his dead son. Reggo already had one aristocrat politician after him, the gnome didn't want to make a habit of angering all the leaders he met... granted they were all usually hypocrites --

Everyone goes to bed, wherever they sleep. They are revitalized after the knight's debacle, and most scars and wounds are healed, though Reggo still has a nasty scar on his neck that stretches down his chest. Only part of it is visible, though, above his collar. Yafira spends some time studying the staff that used to belong to her father. It looks ancient, but solidly built by an expert craftsman. As she runs her hands along the perfectly smooth wood of the staff, she can feel the power it once held. Power that is currently dormant. As she begins to attune it to herself, she is able to tap in to a fraction of that power, releasing it from its slumber. But only a fraction. She feels much more is available, that this staff can do so much more, but she does not have the experience or knowledge to bring it out. Perhaps, as she journeys and studies and grows, she will learn how to pull more of the staff's power out of dormancy. {At this time, the staff acts as a +1 Quarterstaff, adding +1 to all attack and damage rolls made when used as a quarterstaff. Also, as an action, the staff can cast one of three spells: Detect Magic, Mage Hand, or Protection from Good or Evil. It can cast these spells without components, and it can cast them at will, meaning casting them does not take up a spell slot or count against spells known.) Morning comes quickly, and Lorat offers any help you require. From here, your direction is yours. Back to the Tower? Or is there something else you want to do?

"I feel we should remove the stain of Necromancy from this nearby tower. Now, I've only recently had the pleasure of meeting you all, so it would seem only fair, for you to ask me whatever questions you might have to learn about me. Now, I only ask that you provide to me the answer to the same question about yourself, that you asked me."
