It looks like Yafira will have to make an opening herself. The shouting behind her makes it hard to concentrate. She spun around and shouted, "Hey! If this fire spreads, the whole town will burn! Everyone will die! Elves will die! You want to stand there and watch it happen, fine! I'd rather not see this town and our people go up in smoke!"
She sends a Ray of Frost through the window, aiming for the heart of the fire.
Slipping past the crowd, Yoru came across an elf holding a bowl of fire. Elves sure have an odd sense of tradition when responding to a house on fire. She arrived at Yafira's side and saw the burning creature.
Luce isn't sure what a sword will do against this thing. (Um, once she sees the fiery creature, that is.) She's going to start finding a way out for everyone--she'd rather have this fight outside than in a burning building.
That said, she doesn't know about the hostile crowd yet. Are the doors and such barred? Can she hack through them or take a door out with her acid breath?
The creature manages to dodge Xiombarg's attack. Reggo manages to heal himself somewhat, enough to at least lessen the agony the burns have caused.
Liam's eyes blaze with dark power as he begins to whisper. No one else is able to hear any words come out of his mouth, but the fiery creature looks up at him in horror. It grabs its head, and tries to flee, throwing itself out of the window that Yafira shot it through.
It comes to its feet, and looks up at the crowd around it.
The elf holding the flaming bowl holds it up, and says, "Attack them! Leave no witnesses!"
The elemental looks to Yafira and Yoru, and comes at them, reaching for them. Yoru manages to dodge the flaming hand, though she could feel the intense heat radiating from it. Yafira wasn't so lucky. Thankfully, it only managed to brush her shoulder. Unfortunately, that was all it needed to ignite her robe, searing her arm.
(It is now everyone else's turn. Same thing with Yafira that was with Reggo, she's on fire and someone, either her or someone else, needs to use their action to put it out, though she didn't get hurt nearly as bad as poor Reggo did. The door was simply shut, no bars or anything, so it can be opened at any time.)
Luce opens the door and works on getting everyone in the building out of it--she doesn't want it to collapse on anyone. She'll start with everyone downstairs and then look for the innkeeper to find out who's not accounted for.
Thankful for the dragonborn's actions, Reggo slips outside as quietly as possible. He sees Yafira' s cloak burst into flames. Unlike Luce, the gnome wasn't large enough to simply grab the wizard and roll her around, "Yoru! Help her!"
Guarding his friends, the bard used his minor illusion spell, attempting to make himself appear like another fire elemental. He hoped it would scare the crowd and protect his friends--
When that fire elemental lunged at her, Yafira slipped into a daze. Her cloak was on fire, but then it was off her. Someone commanded the elemental to attack, the crash of pottery, then the flames turning on the racists. Yafira wasn't able to discern much through the commotion, but she did catch Enrona's eye. Yafira pulled out a piece of copper wire from her pouch and pointed it at her friend. She whispered, "Don't let our kin get away." (Message)
Reggo's illusion has one main flaw: it's static. It doesn't move. It looks like a fire elemental, but the flames don't flicker, and the image doesn't move. Still, this causes a commotion in the crowd, as some don't realize it's just an illusion. All they see is a second elemental, when the first is eying them, dangerously.
Speaking of which, the elf that held the bowl looks in horror as the light goes out, and the elemental looks right at him. His eyes widen as the otherworldly creature rushes him, reaching for him.
The elemental grabs him, igniting cloth and flesh as if they were tender. The elf screams, a shrill, high sound that no mortal should be able to make, except in their dying moment. Within moments, he falls to the ground, a charred husk.
The crowd scatters. But the elemental isn't done. It looks towards its next prey, one of the other members of the crowd, an elven woman who tripped as she tried to get away.
Thankfully, there aren't that many people in the Inn this night. She manages to get through to the back room, where the Innkeeper sleeps, and rouse him. He escapes out a back door, since the fire has now blocked off the rest of the inn. It has spread up the stairs, along the walls, and even the ceiling. Luce is forced through the same back door.
Enrona heard Yafira's request, though there is doubt in her eyes as the crowd scatters. She is unsure of which course of action to take.
Yafira herself is burned, but it isn't bad. She knows some inexpensive ointment should sooth the pain somewhat. She has not seen Reggo's burns, but FYI, it'll take more than ointment to sooth his pain. While his healing magic has staved off the danger of infection and other life threatening situations the burns may cause, it still hurts to high heavens.
Watching that elf burn alive, Yafira saw all hope of reason disappear. The village Elders will never believe this. Hell, she and her friends will get blamed for this. How will anything that they do matter? Why should the condemned fight to preserve a reputation that no longer exists? Why even go to Kyf Shaeras?
How do you want to lose? Surrender or spend everything before your opponent destroys you? Yafira preferred the latter, however much of a fool that made her. She raised her hand and fired four Magic Missiles at the fire elemental. (2nd level Magic Missile; single-target)
The ray of frost glances off the creature, not seeming to do much damage. All four missiles slam into it, rocking it with pain, and turning its attention back to the threat: Yafira. inside the now empty inn, the fire rages.

Now that Luce has helped clear the inn, she can take stock of the situation. One thing seems clear: Yafira is in danger from that . . . that fiery creature. She draws her sword, puts her shield up and rushes to attack it.
(And she really, really hopes that some civilians around have the sense to start bringing buckets to save the inn! Yeah, she still doesn't fully appreciate what's going on.)
The warriors have the creature Now to save the vilage. "Citizens, grab buckets and fill them, as fast as you can. The fire must be put out before other buildings are lost. Send one to each building to see that it's empty."
Note:Using persuasion to influence the crowd.

Tglassy: I don't write much poetry, but I wrote one a few weeks back that was very close to my heart, and I found that I actually enjoy it. It helped that I wasn't trying to stick to close to any rules this time, and was just writing the lines as they felt right.
