The party goes their seperate ways for the evening, with the majority of them staying in the human run inn. It's a nice inn, as inn's go. The beds are comfortable enough and the rate isn't over the top. Yafira decides to continue staying with Enrona, who is more than happy to have the company, and Reggo is staying in his room at the Dwarven Inn, which is just down the street.
You have a restless night, for whatever reason. As you are tossing and turning, sometime after midnight, you hear the sound of breaking glass coming from somewhere outside your room. A few moments later, you smell smoke.
You wake up sometime after midnight, not sure what roused you. You hear some kind of commotion coming from outside your window. Upon looking out the window, you see a group standing in front of the human inn down the road, one of whom is holding what looks to be a small, lit brazier. The door to the inn is open, and a flickering light can be seen through the door, like that of a bonfire.
If so, he needed to inform the dwarves and the entire town. Reggo grabbed his trumpet and ran out of the room. The bard was noisy as he ran through the halls, he knocked on all the doors yelling "Firee at the inn! Fire!" --
What was that noise? Yafira thought as her eyes blinked open. She rolled out of bed, wrapped her cloak around her shoulders, and stepped outside. She looked down the street, searching for any clue as to what caused that crash.
Liam and Xiobarg leave their rooms at the same time, heading for the stairs to the first floor, the roar of a fire clearly heard. As they dash down the stairs, they see that much of the tavern is on fire.
But more than that. In that fire, they see a figure, roughly humanoid in shape, seeming to be made out of flames. Everywhere the thing goes, the wood ignites into flames. It turns its eyes to the stairs, seeing Xiombarg and Liam standing on the stairs, and a strange, hissing howl escapes it's fiery mouth.
"Luce! Yoru!" Liam calls up the stairs, drawing his gun.
(Everyone outside of the inn who is looking at it can clearly see flames and smoke coming out of the entrance. In front of the inn, the group of people just watch.)
Yafira sees the flames and runs back inside. She shakes Enrona awake. "The inn is on fire. C'mon. We need to help." She grabs her component pouch, clasps the cloak at her neck, then runs toward the burning inn.
Sweat began to bead on Yoru's face as she twist and turn on her bed. Her eyes snapped opened as the faint smell of smoke went into her nose. She grabbed her bag and tumbled out of bed. Was she back at her fraternity? No she's still in her inn. She has to find Luce before this place burns to the ground. She remembered that her friend was just a few rooms away from her. She kicked opened the windows. Slowly balancing on a tiny ledge with her bag on her chest she makes her way to Luce.
Hopping about the entrance of the human inn, the bard tried to see through the gawking crowd, "Excuse me please, my friends are in there!" nervous, Reggo caught a glimpse of a flaming creature inside the inn. Surprised at seeing a being made of flames, the bard thought quickly, "Stand aside please," he bellowed as loudly as a gnome of his size could.
Reggo moved closer to the door of the inn and spoke directly to the fire-being, "Why don't you just cool your flames and come out into the streets where we can talk to you all nice and proper?" the bard casted the spell of suggestion, hoping the entity would understand and be effected by the bards charm.
Luce flickers her eyes open. The noise, the burning scent--she springs awake, realizing the inn is on fire! She jumps out of bed and grabs her gear, hoping to find the staircase still usable. It hasn't occurred to her that the fire is anything other than an accident yet . . . .
Liam draws his gun, aims and fires at the elemental. HIs shot goes wide, and clearly misses the thing, though the gunshot rings through the tavern.
A streak of brilliant light streaks from Xiombarg's fingers, slamming in to the fire creature. It screams in pain, and its body, such as it is, is lit more clearly amid the flames for a moment.
Luce finds the staircase, with Liam and a Xiombarg at the foot. She sees Xiombarg's attack, but cannot see the elemental yet.
The elemental, turns as the gnome is thrown into the tavern, and the door shut behind him. It sees the gnome, and apparently decides the closer target is the easier target. It hurls itself at the gnome, trying to lay a blazing hand on him.
It lands two hands on him, one on his outstretched arm, and one on his chest, and he feels excruciating pain as his entire body ignites, flames blazing.
(Reggo is now on fire. Someone must take an action to douse the flames, be it Reggo or someone else, or he continues to burn. And since the creature hit him with both hands, and one of those was a crit, let's just say Reggo doesn't have many hit points to handle burnin for any more rounds.)
Yafira and Enrona make it to the inn, with a small crowd standing outside it. One of its members is holding a small bowl with fire in it. She saw them throw Reggo into the burning building, and then slam the door behind him. They did not, however, see Yafira.
Smashing through the window of Luce's room, Yoru saw the door left wide opened. She sighed maybe she had already left. No matter. Taking out the rope from her bag, she tied it one of the legs of the bed. She gave it a firm tug to check that it held her weight before sliding down from the window to the ground. As she descended, she saw Yafira whom she decided to regroup with.
Damn racists, Yafira thought when she saw the bowl of fire in her kin's hands. But upon hearing the commotion inside the closed tavern, she knew what she had to do first. Turning to Enrona, she suggested, "Get the crowd to back off. Find people to bring water." Then she circled around the tavern, looking for an opening she could send a ice ray through.
Luce rushes down the stairs, sword in one hand and shield in the other. She heard the words of--who is that exactly? Did lightning just come from that stranger's fingertips? But Liam is standing beside the stranger, not attacking, so it's not an enemy.
When she gets to the base of the stairs, she should have a wider view of what's going on. Presuming she catches sight of Reggo, she'll run to him and roll him around to put out the flames. (The whole stop, drop and roll thing.)
Only one person needs to put the fire out. Luce said it first, so Xiombarg still has his move.
Luce grabs the gnome and throws him on the ground, patting the flames out. The gnome is damaged, but not unconscious, and still has an action to take.
Yafira can either open the door to get a clear view at the elemental, or try to hit it through the window. If she chooses the window, it has 3/4 cover, which makes it harder to hit.
Enrona goes to the crowd, trying to get them to push back, but they don't seem to want to listen to her. They start calling her names, calling her a sympathizer. The crowd is starting to rile up.

Tglassy: I don't write much poetry, but I wrote one a few weeks back that was very close to my heart, and I found that I actually enjoy it. It helped that I wasn't trying to stick to close to any rules this time, and was just writing the lines as they felt right.
