Oh right, she has yet to introduce herself. Yoru stood up straight. "My name is Yoru, nice to meet all of you." She smiled at the bunch before her and turned back to Luce. "We can try to go there, the chamber seem to give us a better chance to finding an exit. And since we have more than enough people here, we could split up on and find which corridor is the right one." Yoru suggested.
Zinnia quickly goes to the remaining pile of stuff next to the chest and grabs all her things. "Hey Yoru, did you happen to hear any dogs barking while you were out there?" a worried look crosses the wild gnome's face, and she wrings her hands in desperation.
"Dogs?" Yoru asked baffled by the sudden question. There are zombie dogs too? That thought made her uneasy as she wasn't sure if they picked up on her scent. She didn't want to engage in another battle so soon. "No I didn't hear any," she replied but studying the midget's facial expression, the dogs she is referring to could be hers. "Perhaps the dogs may be asleep some somewhere? Is there a call you might use to get them? I will try my best to find them if you like." She offered.
Luce is back to guarding the door, but she takes a second to stare at the gnome. "Dogs? Why do you think there are dogs?" She glances over at Yoru. "I don't think we want to find any dogs if we don't have to. Not until we know what's going on and how long it will take to fight our way out of this place."
She pauses. "By the way, that's our first priority, right? Getting out, not exploring. Once we're out, we can find more help to shut this place down." Assuming they were in some reasonable place, that is. Actually, Luce has no idea where they are at the moment.
"Wave, how long have you been here, before we arrived and did we arrive together? Yes, I did see something similar, a golem of some type and that means magic, " as I spit on the ground and make a quick sign over my chest.
"That zombie means wizards or priests, maybe even both. Yoru, do remember what that symbol you saw, looked like? As far as going to another room, there's only one door in this room."
I'll get y'all a map in a bit. I'm a little busy today.
The passage heads east, with a branch that leads to the south. The south passage has other passages on the right, the left, and ends in a turn to the right.
But if you keep going straight down the original passage, you come to the chamber, which has one passage to the north, another to the south, and on the east wall is a large double wooden door.
Feel free to begin moving about the area. I'll poke in when I can to help keep everything moving. Make sure you're clear as to what order everyone is moving in. If you don't specifically state where you're standing, I'll just make assumptions.
"All right."Luce sighs. "We still don't know exactly how to get out. My gut says to stay straight on this main passage, heading east, and head for that double wooden door. Sounds like a front door to me, but if someone has a better idea, I'm game."
She looks around at the group. "Me and Yoru up front, I reckon? Yafira and--I don't know your name, gnome, sorry--you two should be in the middle, I think, where you can shoot off your magic and stay protected. That leaves us with our strong orcish friend here plus the monk to guard our rear."
She shrugs as she finishes. "How's that sound? Everyone accounted for?"
"Ahem. The dog I was referring to was my own dog. These..zombies.. or wizards, must have taken him and put him in another cell somewhere! We've got to find my dog before we leave."
DM... can I roll to see if I can spot any small animals. A mouse or something that I can.. speak with.. I want to ask the mouse if they know the best way out of here and if they can help me find the dog.
You spot droppings and see other signs that rodents of some kind have been in this cell, and by the droppings, it looks like it was recently, but you don't see any at the moment. You can make another check in each room and hall you go into.
Wave slides his nunchucks into his waistband, looks up and says "If we are going, we should go. I am eager to be gone from this place. Also, if anyone has any water, I would greatly appreciate some."
"I think I have some left," Yoru shrugged off her bag and pulled out a canteen, which she shook to check for the amount of water left. It is around one quarter filled. "Here old man," Yoru passed the bottle over.
"Well, I guess it's alright to be in the middle. I'll agree to your plan Luce." Zinnia checks to make sure no ones used any of her healing herbs and medicine kits, mummbling to herself about how she needed to find a mouse.
"We need to get out of here. I don't care about any shrines, but if we go and see it, we should all go together. I've got blowdarts that could be wiped with poisons if anyone has any, and we can sneak up on anything we might find out there."
Wave takes the water, bows in thanks, then proceeds to dump it. The water falls to the ground, but before it hits, the monk swirls his hand and the water alters direction in mid-air, flowing up around the Monk's hand. It swirls in the air, making a ring, then settles around the monk's forearm, creating a sort of bracer.
"At my monastery, we each choose an element to focus on," the monk explains as he hands his canteen back. "I chose water. I have a limited control over it. I am only a beginner at these arts, but I can create simple tools, and other objects that might help. Had I had some water in my cell, I could have put the water in the lock and froze it, the expansion of the water breaking the lock. I have progressed enough to freeze a man's blood cold, and I can also create a dagger out of ice. It doesn't last long before exploding, unfortunately, hurting anyone that is near it, but if I throw it at an enemy, I have found it to be quite effective. I can only do this once, however, before needing to rest. Monks of higher skill can do much, much more, but this will have to do, for now."
(Little bit of metagaming knowledge, to translate what he just told you. This guy is a variant human who took the Magic Initiate Feat at first level, thus giving him two cantrips and a first level spell he can cast once a day. For cantrips, he chose Shape Water, which allows him to manipulate water in nonthreatening ways (very useful, think a Water-bender), and Frostbite, which allows him to hurt people with cold (much like Ray of Frost), and a first level spell Ice Knife, which allows him to throw a knife made of ice that explodes into ice shards. At level 3, he can start learning the Way of the Elements discipline. Yes. I did make a water-bender.)
Yoru has to admit she was taken aback when she saw the old man dump the water onto the floor. She thought he was thirsty so that was why she gave him her water. But she did find the bracer made out of water around his arm amazing, she would have to ask the old man if he could make a ball out of water for her to hold and play in her hand. "Alright lets get moving," Yoru chirped, leading the way with her torch.
"please, let's make this a ...stealthy escape. I do need to be able to hear. ..Although I do see quiet well in the dark, so with luck we may be able to navigate out without the need for much light."
Zinnia looks around for clues as to what time of day it might be and if they're were any windows. "Can everyone see alright without the use of fire?" the hermit motioned to the flaming stick of a torch, she stared at the flames as if frightened and entranced, traumatized by it's glow.
